Just when I try to figure out criminals, they go and do things that boggle the mind. Take this case out of Louisville where this guy Mark Rudolph, who appears to have been on probation for theft, allegedly goes into a Kroger and loads up 26 cartons of Red Bull and Monster. Not like 5 cartons, which probably wouldn’t raise huge red flags. 26 cartons! Not familiar with a carton of Red Bull? Look down below. That’s a carton.
And to top it all off, Mark does this at around 10 a.m. Bro, the place isn’t even packed where you can kinda blend in with the other customers. You didn’t think security would catch you after watching you load up 26 cases? Your ass deserves missing out on Louisville football and basketball this fall/winter while sitting in jail over this one.
According to an arrest warrant, the incident took place on July 14, just after 10 a.m. at the Kroger at 12611 Taylorsville Road, near the Gene Snyder Freeway.
Police say 23-year-old Mark Rudolph put 26 cartons (more than 300 cans) of Red Bull and Monster energy drinks in his shopping cart. He then walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.
Police say the value of the stolen energy drinks was more than $500.
Let’s go to the Kentucky legal world for this one: Theft is a Class D felony in Kentucky if the offense involves property valued at at least $500 but not more than $10,000.
I’d love to hear Mark’s reasoning on this one. July 14 was a Saturday. Was there some sort of rager going on that night?
Looks like Mark was already on probation for theft:
