Packers Fans Should’ve Been Safe From The Rain…Not At Daniel Snyder’s Dump

How do I know FedEx Field, just 21 years old, is about to become an empty stadium here in a few years when taxpayers bend over and provide Dan Snyder with the tax dollars to build a new facility to make a bunch of money, spend 20 years in and ask for another stadium? Because D.C. politicians have already put the wheels in motion to make a new stadium a reality.

What’s that mean for fans? It means you’re going to get soaked in covered seats while watching the Packers-Redskins on a rainy Sunday.

Let’s go back to August and this from the Washington Post:

As with a real estate agent seeking multiple bids on a house, it’s in the Redskins’ interests to gin up a bidding war among multiple jurisdictions for their next stadium, which could cost as much as $1 billion. To date, however, none has come forward with a package of incentives, according to people familiar with the process.

The Redskins ideally would like to choose and announce the site for the stadium by the end of the year. That process could be delayed if offers aren’t forthcoming.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said in October 2016 that he would do “whatever it takes” to keep the Redskins in Maryland after the team’s lease at FedEx Field expires in 2027.

If you think, at this point, they’re going to put a penny into FedEx Field, you’re crazy. That means even if you buy covered seats, take a poncho. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

As for tickets these days, the glory days are over for the Redskins. The waiting list that the Redskins once claimed to be 200,000 deep, is gone. Time for a new stadium, I guess.

The #Redskins‘ claimed 50-year sellout streak ends as roughly 25,000 seats remain empty in home-opening loss to #Colts: https://t.co/ULxlhIllJl pic.twitter.com/1OSbZG19NE

Week 2 update: seats and weather were great, Redskins looked horribly unprepared, FedEx was as empty as I’ve seen in Sept, #ATTR Burgundy is way better than Gold, Ovi was the best part of the game. 🤷‍♂️ #HTTR pic.twitter.com/1Ics3Lo5xH
