There will be a fairly valuable gold jacket in the mail this weekend headed to Terrell Owens’ mailing address courtesy of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, according to the Hall’s executive director, Joe Horrigan. The gold jacket will be put in the mail first thing Saturda
Owens will not be introduced for Friday night’s Gold Jacket ceremony, nor will he be announced the following night at Canton’s annual induction ceremony, said the Hall’s executive director, Joe Horrigan.
“The focus,” Horrigan said, “is on the guys who are here.”
T.O. will have his picture included with the rest of the Class of 2018, but he won’t be mentioned. You will, however, be able to buy T.O. HOF gear.
“There’s no reason to bring him up as an individual,” said Horrigan. “He’s not here.”
Owens has instead scheduled a speech on the campus of Tennessee-Chattanooga. For those who might be disappointed that T.O. won’t get his 15 minutes, you’ll be happy to know that Ray Lewis is getting inducted and will gladly take up the leftover 15 minutes and then some. Should be an electric night. I’ll be in Canton. Wouldn’t miss what Ray has to say.
