Harwood Junior High School counselor Shannon Hathaway turned herself into police Thursday for a crime that’s become all too common: (alleged) sex with a student. According to the Bedford Police Department, they received a tip and launched an investigation in early May, which uncovered Hathaway was involved with a ninth-grade male student during the 2016-17 school year. CBS DFW adds the relationship only ended because the student’s mother caught them in bed together.
Hathaway, who is married, previous taught first grade and received her Master’s Degree in counseling from TCU. She is facing a charge of having an improper relationship between educator and student.
